West Gate Tunnel – Container Logistics Impacts

0304 CTAA WGT Seminar - Audience left rear

CTAA hosted a highly successful Seminar on 4th March 2025, focusing on the likely impacts to the container transport logistics sector from the opening of the West Gate Tunnel (WGT) infrastructure in Melbourne and associated β€œNo Truck Zones” enforcement on designated inner west roads.

Over 230 people attended, drawn from across the broader container logistics spectrum, including shipping lines, importers & exporters, freight forwarders, empty container park operators, transport operators, suppliers to industry, the Port of Melbourne and government representatives.

The Victorian Minister for Ports & Freight, and Roads & Road Safety, Hon. Melissa Horne MP, opened the Seminar, thanking CTAA for its continued advocacy and collaboration on the project.

Copies of the Seminar Presentations are available, as well as next steps in CTAA liaising with the Government and Transurban ahead of the opening of the WGT later in 2025.
