Award Rates & Fuel Road User Charge Increases

Award rates of pay and allowances rose by 3.75% from 1 July 2024.  The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) has published useful Pay Guides for all modern Awards, including the Road Transport & Distribution Award, the Road Transport (Long Distance Operations) Award and the Clerks Private Sector Award.

In addition, the Road User Charge (RUC) levied on diesel used in heavy vehicles to travel on public roads has increased from 1 July 2024 from 28.8 to 30.5 cents per litre, or six per cent.  Consequently, the on-road Fuel Tax Credit rate for eligible heavy vehicles has decreased.
