DP World Australia, Patrick Terminals, and Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT), have adopted amendments to the Victorian Voluntary Pricing Protocol to align their landside pricing tariffs to commence from 1 January each calendar year.
60-day industry notices were issued by each container terminal company on 1 November 2024, with 30-day notices due at the beginning of December 2024 for a 1 January 2025 commencement date.
As DPWA and Patrick have terminals also in QLD, NSW and WA, they have aligned the landside tariff amendments nationally.
CTAA is analysing the announcements and will be raising queries with each of the container terminal operating companies within the feedback period through to 28 November 2024.
Meanwhile, CTAA has issued further commentary on the need for a Mandatory Code on container stevedore landside pricing administered through a regulatory watchdog such as the ACCC.
